A little help with understanding camera exposure.
One way to think of exposure is like a seesaw. As one child rises a given distance on the seesaw, the other falls by the same amount. Their average distance from the ground is always the same. With your camera set to autoexposure, as you change the aperture or shutter speed to let in more or less light, the other setting changes in the opposite direction to keep the exposure constant.

Gone are the days of “eye spy” and car games replaced by modern items such as the Kid-Tough Portable DVD Player and other similar gadgets.
Now while I’m all for accumulating every known wonder gadget, I somehow feel that children of today are lacking the personal contact and family interaction that they require, in order to become the fulfilled adults we want to grow up and run this world.
However, that being said, I’m sure there are some parents who will absolutely adore this invention and perhaps, only use it sparingly, allowing the child to learn how to operate and use this nifty device all by themselves.
This invention is everything that a parent wishes for; safety, strength and the ability to entertain your children while on long trips, I cannot help but feel sad that the children of today won’t learn to appreciate the family time, that I did as a child, on road trips.

Trying to get more involved in photography… maybe wanting to improve… maybe turn professional?
You may want to do a bit of research, as the stock industry has changed a great deal with the advent of digital. Now, there is a surplus of digital images that has driven down the rates of return for photographers. Some agencies, such as istockphoto, operate on a quantity basis and are a cheap source of images for businesses. But the lower the rate, the smaller your cut as a photographer so you may need a large quantity of images to make money with stock photography. On the other hand, if you shoot large quantities of images that are in demand but not often photographed, like food, then this may be an option to consider.

A SLR digital camera requires some special consideration in the cold weather. One needs to ensure that the camera does not become damaged. The following camera care tips should help: Reconditioned digital cameras to view: 1. Make sure you have spare batteries - batteries tend to wear out faster in cold conditions. Try to keep the spares warm by putting them in a pocket close to your body. 2. Bring along your camera bag and some plastic bags big enough for your camera. By placing your camera inside the plastic bag and then inside your camera bag, you will help limit condensation forming on your camera when you go back inside. 3. Try to keep your camera inside your jacket - close to your body - when you aren’t using it. 4. Before you go back inside, wrap your camera in a thick plastic bag and put it back in your camera bag. Try to keep the bag air-tight. This will cut down on any condensation that can form both outside and inside your camera, causing damage. 5. If possible, warm your camera up slowly by placing it in an unheated room for a while before moving it to a warmer location in the house. Want sharper images at lower shutter speeds? Famous photographer Joe McNally shows us a tip on how to hold your camera to achieve this. Most people are a“right eye” shooter normally, but I’m going to try this technique using my left eye instead and see what happens. He says that you’ll be able to shoot at shutter speeds (while hand-holding your camera) that you never thought possible. Give it a try and see what happens!
