Digital Photo Frame and Photo Albums - A  TFT LCD screen with the LED backlight provides ample surface and brightness to display your images and video clips from any format.  That’s the new… compared with the framing the old prints and photographs.  I still love framing the old vintage prints too.

Wildlife Photography - Photographing Birds
Catching inspiring images of birds takes more than just good luck
By Mike Stensvold

Birds are fascinating critters, a fact that hits home more frequently the more I hang out with them. Photographing birds is a challenge, but a most enjoyable and rewarding one. Here are some keys to creating better bird photos.

Look For Light
As with all photography, light is the key ingredient. So look for good light and then look for birds in that good light. While great shots can be made in backlighting and moody, misty light, the best light for most bird photos is frontal sun, early or late in the day. That means looking for birds toward the west at sunrise and toward the east in the afternoon—you want the sun at your back.

An item that is ever so popular nowadays is the digital photo frame.  New designs are coming out very quickly.  What I notice is that you can buy one frame, but actually get more than one frame.

You can get more than one colour, with the interchangable frame.  Aciontv digital photo frame has choices.  And Memorex has a nice choice, the model (below).  This a great boon to the person with an interior decorator nack.  Also great for the teenage girl.  It is a special touch when you are entertaining a  party.  You can pick-out the perferred color for an Anniversary celebration, with the theame of the party.

You’ve got a digital camera, why shouldn’t your picture frames be digital too?  With a digital photo frame you don’t have to pay to have your snaps printed, and they don’t just show one picture, they display your entire collection on a bright full-colour LCD.  The aciontv digital photo frame is one of the frames looking very nice, as some of the picture frames.

Your images will be presented in a dynamic slide show.  No need to print your photos or even copy them to a computer, you can view pictures immediately with a digital picture frame.

Well, I take a chance.  I just got another rejection of an image I thought was alright.  It may have been, but there are too many of that subject already online at that photostock site.  It is getting harder & harder to to get accepted;  is not like it was a couple of years back with I first started.

Dreamstime really like good composition, they are really adamant about that.

Shutterstock likes an image to as useful as possible;  hardly any cropping.

iStockPhoto  must have extra special equipment for diagnosing ‘noise’, ’cause where others will accept an image, they turn me down for noise.

Many good tips in this article on Lighting … it helped when shooting roses for my

aciontv digital photo frame

Lighting your subject is, obviously, very important for the successful capture of the ‘perfect’ image. The type and intensity of the light can dramatically change the mood of the photograph. Sometimes the effect is not obvious until the picture is developed. Even with the digital camera, although you can see an image immediately, the size of the view screen makes it difficult to notice some of the differences.

The best way to learn how light affects the final image is to experiment – ah the joy of the digital camera – you don’t have to wait to get the film developed to see the results! Try taking pictures with and without the flash. Try using alternate sources of light. Try using settings other than the camera default settings.1. Taking pictures with/without a flash -Many cameras have an automatic flash setting that I find most people used 99% of the time. This may not always get you the result you want. For example, on a very bright day your flash will not fire as your camera senses enough light. However, you may find that the shadows cast are very strong and detract from the photo. Most digital cameras today have a setting called ‘fill flash’. You can use this setting to ‘fill’ in the shadows created by the strong sunlight. — Don’t always use the flash when the camera wants to use it. At Halloween carving pumpkins, take them out to the front step (in the dark), light the candles and position yourself so that the flame is hidden behind the design but the light comes shining through. If using a flash, all you would see would be an orange pumpkin with stuff carved out.. If you turn off the flash, you can then take a great photo that shows the design as glowing against the dark pumpkin.

a Tip while using digital cameras like olympus digital cameras and other popular cameras …

Fat people Photos – why? Bad lighting, mostly, - unlike in a photo shoot with flattering soft lights. Cast from an angle, light creates shadows that sculpt the face and body by hiding unwanted flesh. Softer lights can hide wrinkles and smooth out the skin for women, while harsher lights on male faces exaggerate lines for a chiseled look. Without the aid of shadows, however, light exposes the imperfections of the face and body and makes the resulting image bigger and flatter. That’s why everyone avoids white dresses—which cast fewer shadows under even lighting—except the thinnest. The camera’s perspective—how objects in a two-dimensional field express depth—can also distort a person’s size. Telephoto lenses, which have a long focal length, compress the space between the foreground and the background, making distant objects appear closer. Up close, they shrink the distance from your nose to your ears, resulting in a diminished proboscis and more balanced features. Wide angle lenses, which have a short focal length, do just the opposite, making a person in the center of the picture appear both wider and taller. At the extreme, these lenses can also make people at the outside edges of a group photo look fatter.

People today are migrating towards the bigger pixel digital cameras.  People are purchasing a megapixel size choice that they may not need to  use, an example would be a   8 MP or 10 MP  setting digital camera.  A 3.2 to 6 MP would do just fine for family albums.  An example would be the a model found with fujifilm digital cameras

Rule of Thirds - Understanding the Rule of Thirds - an image can be divided into 9 equal parts by two.  I wanted to know if I was following the right rules for composition.

Trying to create good photos for my coby digital photo frame.  Trying to show-off some pictures, all set-up nice for the kids.  Thinking about getting the kids their own.

The rule of thirds

appears as early as 1845 as a rule for proportioning scenic paintings.  The rule of thirds is a compositional  rule of thumb in photography and other visual arts such as painting. The rule states that an image can be divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines. The four points formed by the intersections of these lines can be used to align features in the photograph.  Proponents of this technique claim that aligning a photograph with these points creates more tension, energy and interest in the photo than simply centering the feature would. The photograph to the right demonstrates the application of the rule of thirds. The horizon sits at the horizontal line dividing the lower third of the photo from the upper two-thirds. The tree sits at the intersection of two lines, sometimes called a power point. Points of interest in the photo don’t have to actually touch one of these lines to take advantage of the rule of thirds.  For example, the brightest part of the sky near the horizon where the sun recently set does not fall directly on one of the lines, but does fall near the intersection of two of the lines, close enough to take advantage of the rule.  The application of the rule of thirds to photographs is considered by many to make them more aesthestically pleasing and professional-looking. The rule of thirds can be applied by lining up subjects with the guiding lines, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line instead of the center, or allowing linear features in the photograph to flow from section to section. In addition, many photographers recommend treating any “rule” of composition as more of a guideline, since pleasing photographs can often be made while ignoring one or more such rules.  When photographing or filming people, it is common to line the body up with a vertical line, and having the person’s eyes in line with a horizontal one.  If filming a moving subject, the same pattern is often followed, with the majority of the extra room being in front of the person (the way they are moving).  Footnote: What about the rule-of-thirds?  I don’t think that you have to stop to divide each image into its parts to decide what to put in the frame.  By the time you do that, the ‘decisive moment’ may have passed.

I’ll use all the good tips I can use.  I wanted some information for the

olympus evolt.  Here is helpful information on good composition for your photographs.

Excellent composition is a key structure of good imagery and when done well will add great value to your pictures. Regardless of which type of photography we participate in, the rules of composition remain the same.

Good composition is required in all types of photography -

Here are a few tips which you may find practical.

Lead with lines: To lead with lines into the main part of the scene will draw the viewer into your image. These lines don’t have to be straight. Lines, such as tracks, riverbanks or fences, may work successfully.

Foreground interest: Simple foreground objects can give your landscape a greater sense of depth. Use a small aperture (f/22) to keep the entire scene in focus.

Tips for taking digital pics in the candlelight.  This was helpful for me, when a wanted to add quality photos to my new aciontv digital photo frame.

A.  Turn off Your Flash

Lets start with the obvious ones and work our way back. We’ve all taken shots using a flash in low light situations and have been disappointed by the way it totally destroys any ambient light in a shot. If you want to get the warm glow of candles it’s essential that you switch your flash completely off.

B.  Use a Tripod

Stating the obvious again - but shooting by candlelight means you’re shooting with very little light which in turn means you’ll almost certainly be shooting with slower shutter speeds that increase the impact of camera shake on your shots. Make sure your camera is as  SECURE and as still as possible during shots by using a tripod and by considering the use of a remote shutter release to take out any vibrations from hitting the shutter.

C.  Extra Candles

The biggest big trial,  is the lack of light you have to work with. Using more candles will obviously produce more light that gives you a little more flexibility when it comes to shutter speed, ISO and aperture settings.

Halloween
Don’t always use the flash when the camera wants to use it.
